A Mothers Love: Vanessa Williams & Her Daughter 'Lion Babe' Vocalist Jillian Hervey Covers Essence Magazine

Williams and her daughter discussed the business, family, beauty and so much more. Read below. With 30-plus years of being in the industry and showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, it is no surprise that Williams daughter is following her mothers footstep in the industry. Williams newest project is a talk show 'Daytime Divas,' which will premiere next spring.
Williams On surviving a setback: “You have to go through the fire. Avoiding the pain is why most people never resolve it. You have to dig deep, sit in it and ugly-cry. Pretending it’s not there and keeping busy are a way of avoiding it.”
Williams On finding love again: “[Marrying Jim Skrip] it was one of those easy, easy things. It was fantastic.” But being a nurturing mother has been one of Williams’ top priorities too.
A little music history about Williams daughter Via Essence: "Hervey and her partner, Lucas Goodman (aka Astro Raw) began releasing music under the Lion Babe moniker in 2012 and later signed with Interscope Records. In preparation for their follow up 2016 EP, Begin, Hervey’s making sure their next album hits the right note as much as her look—with or without her signature “lion” mane —which has taken a life of it’s own."

Beautiful First Lady Michelle Obama covers the December issue of Vogue magazine. Looking gorgeous as usual, the first lady discussed her time at the White House, what she's looking forward to the most when she leaves, Hillary Clinton before losing to Donald Trump, her children and so much. Read excerpts from the interview below.
Via Vogue Magazine: Discussing her time on the campaign trail during president Obama run. She was asked by the interviewer, “What kind of First Lady will you be?” The answer was always the same: “I won’t know until I get there.” During her early days of introducing the world and America to it's first African American family in the white house, critics called her distant or “angry”—an epithet and so much more. She continued to strive with class and grace, staying focus on the path of history. Discussing his wife, president Obama wrote in an email to Vogue, “Michelle never asked to be First Lady. Like a lot of political spouses, the role was thrust upon her. But I always knew she’d be incredible at it, and put her own unique stamp on the job. That’s because who you see is who she is—the brilliant, funny, generous woman who, for whatever reason, agreed to marry me. I think people gravitate to her because they see themselves in her—a dedicated mom, a good friend, and someone who’s not afraid to poke a little fun at herself from time to time.”
Discussing her initiative in the white house Mrs. Obama said, "Once she got her daughters acclimated—she routinely referred to herself as 'Mom in chief.' Being a lawyer and Harvard-educated, issues supporting military families and healthy eating were passionate tasks for. During her second term, she launched two education initiatives, Reach Higher and Let Girls Learn. She visited Liberia, which was an amazing moment because as a writer and owner of this website who is Liberian, I was very touched that she cared enough to visit my country and offered assistance for those less fortunate young women.
Via Vogue: "The White House has changed quite a bit in the past eight years, becoming much warmer, far less formal, and distinctly more diverse. They have created an ecosystem that is so effortlessly inclusive that, for example, Joe Mahshie, a trip coordinator for the First Lady, and Brian Mosteller, director of Oval Office operations, were married by Joe Biden at his home just a few months ago. Mahshie, my minder today, tells me that he first met Mrs. Obama when his then boyfriend Mosteller took him to join the SoulCycle class that the First Lady goes to once a week with White House staffers. Mahshie and Mrs. Obama struck up a conversation; one of her staffers was taken aback by his forwardness: “Do you know her?” No, we just met, he replied. “Was I not supposed to talk to her? Should I have curtsied?” He laughs. “She creates that possibility.” Read the full article here. The first lady and president Obama will be greatly missed.

One of the exciting moment as a new mother is having your mother over for a few weeks to look after the baby while you fit in those quick naps from the sleepless nights. Her son, not being able to remember his grandmother is very sad, but she's hoping that memories save will help him when the time comes.
Speaking more on her mother's death, Rowland said, "I remember not wanting to be sad for Titan. I wanted to keep myself together because I believe that all that stress and grief can be passed on to your baby. Knowing Titan needed me, and having that to focus on, helped me through." She also chatted about, how being a mother have made her more patient. She said, "Before Titan, I had zero patience, but now I do. The Bible verse 'love is patient ' is real!" Also learning to let go was another lesson learned since becoming a mom. "I don't make the little things into big issues like I once did, "My OCD had to go out the window. My living room looks like a freaking day care." When speaking on her weight, Rowland said that, " Motherhood also allowed the perfectionist to give herself a break when it comes to weight." 'I Am Beautiful In Every Single Way': Zendaya Cover Pulled As Modeliste Magazine Fix The Photoshop Issue
Zendaya is the cover girl for Modeliste magazine November issue. She looks gorgeous as always on the cover. What should have been an exciting moment and another amazing experience for the young singer and actress, quickly turned into another controversial moment. Although she is never disrespectful in her responses, Zendaya happens to unwillingly find herself in moments where she has to take to social media to defend herself. From the Fashion Police Giuliana Rancic
issue (read _here) to defending her parents and now this. Zendaya noticed a few days ago that the editor of the images for her shoot Photoshopped her hips and waists in images posted online. What is shocking is that Zendaya has a slender frame, so many were confuse to why the editor felt that her body needed altering. She took this as a moment to bring light to body shaming issues, by posting a side by side image of the original image and the Photoshop image with a message. See below.
Zendaya posted the side by side. On the right is the unedited version and on the left is the retouched. The magazine has since released a statement.
Via Modeliste magazine editor-in-chief Amy McCabe: "In light of our not-yet-released November issue, with Modeliste’s Cover Girl, Zendaya and the swirling controversy in regards to any retouched images, I am compelled to publicly address this situation which was brought to my attention yesterday, personally by Zendaya. Upon review of the final edited images which had been submitted to us by an independent editing company, together, as a collaboration between myself, Zendaya and her parents, we concluded that the images had been retouched to an extent that was not acceptable and not true to the values and ideals we represent and promote in our publication."
'I, therefore, made the executive decision to immediately pull the issue in order to have this rectified and have the images restored to their original, natural state which will reflect the true beauty and radiance of Zendaya.
She continued: Modeliste 'advocates positive body image, self love and the empowerment of women' and recalled speaking with Zendaya on the phone about the retouching and learning that she also noticed that her fine baby hairs were Photoshopped from her forehead."
Not allowing another controversy hold her back, Zendaya was seen heading to dinner as the statement continued; 'As we had so many different hair styles throughout the shoot, this was something I hadn’t noticed; however, it was incredibly profound that this was something in particular in which she loves about herself, and what is a part of what makes her who she is,' Amy explained.
'What one person may see as a “flaw” is someone else’s “fabulousness”, she added. 'We are proud that Zendaya has taken this as an opportunity to address this situation, and create a very necessary honest and open dialogue.
'It is that open dialogue with Zendaya and her family and representatives that we have decided to present to you the most beautiful and untouched photos of our Cover shoot that are a result of this wonderful collaboration.
'It is our hope that these images and the truthful portrayal of these unedited images brings attention and awareness to this issue. It’s important that we learn to be uplifting not only to one another, but to ourselves. That we learn to embrace our differences, our unique gifts and those aspects and qualities that make us real and who we are."
After the lengthy statement and the images being pulled and the unedited version posted, Zendaya took to her Instagram page with a short message. "Thank you @modelistemagazine for pulling down the images and fixing this retouch issue." She is an amazing young woman. She always handle every situation with grace and class.
'It's Zoë Saldana's first day back at work, and truth be told, she's having fun. Her twin boys, Cy and Bowie, are nearby, and she's singing "Sweet Dreams" by the Eurythmics while snacking on trail mix from Whole Foods Market. "I had forgotten how much fun shoots can be!" Saldana says while trying on a delicate Hermès watch and diamond feather earrings by Sidney Garber for the cover of InStyle's July issue, available on newsstands and for digital download June 12.'
Wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress, bracelet and ring by Dior Fine Jewelry, and rings by Jane Taylor Jewelry, Saldana reveals that this is her first cover since she and husband Margo welcomed twin boys Cy and Bowie. The issue was photographed by Paul Maffi in Villa de Leon in Malibu.
Beautiful People: Since marrying artist Marco Perego in 2013, the couple looks like they're still in the honeymoon stage of their relationship. She posted this beautiful shot of the two on her Instagram page. Perego is making headlines for taking his wife last name. She spoke about it in the article: "I tried to talk him out of it I told him, ‘If you use my name, you’re going to be emasculated by your community of artists, by your Latin community of men, by the world,'' she said. 'But Marco looks up at me and says, ‘Ah, Zoe, I don’t give a s***.''
Precious Moments: Since giving birth November 2014, Saldana and her husband have decided to keep their children face from the public for now. These are the closet they have come to showing of their adorable children, twin boys Cy and Bowie. She said that motherhood has definitely 'made her and husband Marco even stronger. When we had our boys, I looked at my husband and I realized: I was meant for you, and you were meant for me. I've always felt comfortable around men as long as they were my friends. Now I finally feel comfortable with my lover.'
Staying Healthy: Documenting her weight loss journey on social media, Saldana said,"I’m a woman now. My body has changed forever. It’s softer and stronger. Your body changes dramatically, inside and out. You grow in places you never knew you could, and you are tired beyond belief. In some cases more than others, your body experiences a kind of trauma through childbirth that is difficult to explain unless you've had that experience. My case was like that, everything from my thyroid to my platelets crashed. Thank God, we are all doing great now, but my body was really bent out of shape after the boys were born Adding that 'feels impossible' for her to bounce back," but she refuses to give up.
Healthy: She continue: 'I started training in January with Moyer. I was 160lbs (at the peak of my pregnancy I reached 185lbs). I had no flexibility, weak joints, and exercising was painful. We started with just walking, I think I only walked that first month. I did however change the way I eat. I want to prove to myself that if I have the right determination I can do anything.' It seems like she is doing an awesome job bouncing back.
Working Mom: She stars in Infinitely Polar Bear, which debuts in theaters June 19. 'The story-line follows a manic-depressive mess of a father (Mark Ruffalo) who tries to win back his wife (Zoe) by attempting to take full responsibility of their two young, spirited daughters, who don't make the overwhelming task any easier.' Pick up the July issue of InStyle, available on newsstands and for digital download June 12.
In an interview with Diane Sawyer (view here) a little while ago, Bruce Jenner, the former Olympian called "The world greatest athlete," finally revealed a secret that he has kept to himself for decades. He started the interview with this, “For all intents and purposes, I’m a woman,” he told Diane Sawyer during ABC News’ “20/20.” He continued, “People look at me differently. They see you as this macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in life -- it is part of me,” Jenner, 65, said. “That female side is part of me. That’s who I am.” Bruce talked about his battle with transgender identity. As he continued the interview, he referred to himself as "Bruce and her." He said, “I look at it this way—Bruce always telling a lie. He’s lived a lie his whole life about who he is. And I can’t do that any longer." My brain is much more female than it is male,” he added. “It’s hard for people to understand that, but that’s what my soul is.” Bruce revealed that the first time he knew he was different was when he wore his mother's dress and dresses from his sister's closet in 1950 saying, “I marked the closet so when I put it back I could put it all back, everything back in the exact same spot so I wouldn’t get caught and, at the time, I didn’t know why I was doing it besides it just made me feel good.” He also spoke about cross dressing as well in his adulthood. “I’d literally go up into the hotel room, change [into women’s] clothes, and walk around,” Jenner said. What many thought was a secret he kept to himself, as listed above, Jenner revealed that for decades, his 'ex-wives and sister kept the secret of his gender identity.' Jenner recently told his six biological children – Burt, Cassandra, Brandon, Brody, Kendall and Kylie -- and four step children Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob Kardashian. When asked about his children reaction, Bruce said, “They all cried. Mainly because they didn’t want anybody to hurt dad. They are very protective of me.” The wait is over. Meet Caitlyn Jenner below.
Caitlyn Jenner discussed her relief at having no secrets anymore. She said: 'Bruce always had to tell a lie, he was always living that lie, every day he always had a secret from morning until night, um, Caitlyn doesn't have any secrets. Soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I'm free.' She also send out her first Tweet, see below.
Also watch a short clip from her Vanity Fair shoot, view more images and read Tweets from her children and supporters.
On an episode of their hit reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians, her daughter Kim Kardashian announced that she and husband Kanye West are expecting their second child. That was all the news until Jenner Vanity Fair cover was released. This led to hilarious memes below.
In All Seriousness: I hope you now have inner peace. We don't have to agree with people choices in life, but we do have to respect them. No judgement here Caitlyn Jenner congratulations. Now live your truth.
