Kelly Rowland is the cover girl for Parents Magazine during her interview with the publication, Rowland discussed becoming a wife, mother, losing her mother and how motherhood brought her closer to her friends who are mothers, especially former Destiny's Child bandmate and practically sister, Beyoncé. Rowland who have been busy with fliming her flashback scenes for Fox hit show Empire, also announced to Parents magazine that she is working on new music for her album. Speaking on the birth of her son Titan, Rowland said that she was, "elated to be expecting a baby with her manager turned husband, Tim Witherspoon." She continued, "When Titan was born that November 2014, at 7.5 pounds, there was so much love in the room. Mommy’s little Baby." Rowland said that the "the world stood still. I was speechless. He took my breath away." Sadly with the celebration of life came the disappointment of death. Three weeks after the birth of her first child, her mother Doris died of a heart attack. It was sudden. She went into cardiac arrest. Rowland said that her mother's death was, "was tough and emotional moment in her life." One of the exciting moment as a new mother is having your mother over for a few weeks to look after the baby while you fit in those quick naps from the sleepless nights. Her son, not being able to remember his grandmother is very sad, but she's hoping that memories save will help him when the time comes.
Speaking more on her mother's death, Rowland said, "I remember not wanting to be sad for Titan. I wanted to keep myself together because I believe that all that stress and grief can be passed on to your baby. Knowing Titan needed me, and having that to focus on, helped me through." She also chatted about, how being a mother have made her more patient. She said, "Before Titan, I had zero patience, but now I do. The Bible verse 'love is patient ' is real!" Also learning to let go was another lesson learned since becoming a mom. "I don't make the little things into big issues like I once did, "My OCD had to go out the window. My living room looks like a freaking day care." When speaking on her weight, Rowland said that, " Motherhood also allowed the perfectionist to give herself a break when it comes to weight." Her advice to new moms was hilarious, but true, " Write on the mirror in red lipstick : I had a baby. I'm a superhero." Read the full article here Parents Magazine.
