After a not guilty verdict heard around the world for a man that murdered unarmed teen Trayvon Martin, one will think George Zimmerman, would have lay low for a while, not really. He’s been in the news a lot. I guess he feels invisible and I don’t blame him. According to Seminole County booking documents, Lake Mary police arrested 31-year-old George Zimmerman yesterday on aggravated assault with a weapon. He was than booked at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility at 10:10 PM. Zimmerman bond was set at $5,000 and his arraignment date is February 17, 2015.
In September 2013, estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman, called 911 to tell police he had punched her father and was threatening her with a gun. She opted not to press charges.
A few months later, November 2013, he was arrested on domestic violence charges. His girlfriend Samantha Scheibe reported the assault, but also dropped charges. Scheibe later stated, “Investigators had misinterpreted her statements.” He was also involve in a road rage incident in September 2014.
I understand why Zimmerman feels invisible. He stalked an unarmed teen, 911 operators told him to leave the situation alone and allow police officers to handle it. He refused. If he had listened or stayed in his home that night, Martin would be alive. In his head, he got away with murder, so an aggravated assault with a weapon charge is a minor incident for him.
Praying for the Martin family. Every time this man ends up in the news, they have to be re-live stories of that terrible day all over again.
